The Ybike Balance Bike is a great starter bicycle for toddlers who want to learn how to ride. Above and beyond the typical tricycle, this bike is constructed in a special way to help your child develop the particular skills he or she needs to be riding with ease in no time.

YBIKE Balance Bike Features

  • Specially designed to help kids learn how to ride a bicycle,
  • The front wheel is far-forward, allowing for bigger turning circles,
  • The two back wheels let your child lean into a turn and keep their balance,
  • High ground clearance is perfect for almost any type of ground terrain, including sand and grass.

The bike can come in four different colors to suit any kid’s preference, including blue, green, orange and pink. Each set of wheels and handles are black.

Is the YBIKE Balance Bike Worth Buying?

The product manufacturers claim that kids who rode the bike for 20 to 30 minutes for two days a week showed significant improvement in their balance and bilateral coordination. Young children of 18 months showed more physical self-confidence. But is this true experience for actual users of the bike?

Overall, parents are extremely pleased with the enjoyment their children have experienced with the Ybike and the definite improvements they’ve seen in their balance. It’s no wonder this product get an average of 4.5 stars on retailer and review sites. Many have stated it’s definitely worth the money if you’re looking for a comfortable, sturdy, safe bike for your child.

With a tough frame built to last, the Ybike is great for practice sessions outside in the driveway or at the park. Obstacles aren’t a problem with its high ground clearance, so your child doesn’t have to avoid little bumps on the path.

Designed to help with skill development, the Ybike aims to improve your child’s balance and coordination. These are important elements of bike riding that even adults can understand are key to a smooth ride. Since the front wheel is a considerable distance away from the bike’s center of gravity, more stability and control is provided. This allows for bigger turning circles and less chance of falling over the front during turns. Added support is in place with the study pair of back wheels.

Unfortunately some people weren’t happy with the fact that the seat height was fixed without any room for adjustment. The manufacturer does note that it should be easily fixed with the child bending their knees. The only other downside that parents mentioned was the noisy ride due to the hard plastic wheels. Some people were hoping for solid rubber wheels that would be quieter and smoother.

Regardless, reviews from parents consistently mentioned that their children loved the Ybike Balance bike and felt comfortable riding it.

Here Are Some Actual Reviews From Customers Who Have Bought This Toy

Jenna Glatzer,

First, this is simple to assemble and looks cool. My 3 1/2-year-old couldn’t wait to try it out as soon as it was together, so she rode it around the living room and kitchen. She didn’t want to get off her bike for the rest of the night– impressive, considering she owns two tricycles and one bike with training wheels and hasn’t really taken to any of them. This one, she thought was fun. While she watched TV, she sat on her bike and picked up her legs and tried to balance as she leaned side to side…

Jennifer “Techie Mama”,

My 2-year-old absolutely loves this bike. I hadn’t even considered the idea of getting her a bike yet, but when I received this I knew we had to give it a try. I hadn’t heard of balance bikes prior to the YBIKE, but I could instantly see what the hype was all about. My 2-year-old is just the right size to scoot along on her bike and I don’t fear at all for her safety as the bike is very low to the ground and quite sturdy. The rear wheel is wide enough to provide stability and the handlebars can’t turn sharp enough for her to turn too hard and fall off. As I watch her ride around, I can see the balance practice the whole time. A slight tip to the side reminds her to regain her balance but doesn’t frighten her like my 5-year-old still experiences with his training wheels. Every time my son tips a tiny bit with the training wheels, he (and I!) become worried and he usually won’t put up with that for very long before deciding to quit. Hence, he rarely rides his bike. This bike, however, has both children fighting over who gets to play. Now, my 5-year-old is too tall for the bike but he can still scoot around just fine and seems quite comfortable. I am fairly sure a bigger YBIKE will be waiting for him under the tree this Christmas and hopefully by spring he will have the confidence to ride his other bike. I only wish I had discovered it sooner! Highly recommended!
